What are the skill levels prescribed for each of your quilt patterns?
All our pattern products are designed with the beginner quilter in mind. Keera’s experience as a teacher, ensures that instructions are presented clearly, teach new techniques and offer additional tips and supporting resources for the reader. Definitions of skill levels are:
Beginner – perfect for someone who has just started quilting and has a basic knowledge of some sewing and quilting terms. A basic understanding of how to operate a sewing machine is also required.
Intermediate – for someone who has done some quilting and is familiar with piecing, quilting and binding techniques.
Advanced – for the quilter who is experienced with piecing, seam matching and is comfortable working with more advanced techniques.
What are pre-cut fabrics and where do I purchase them?
Many of our quilt patterns primarily use pre-cut fabric pieces, allowing for ease of preparation and cutting.
Most fabric manufacturer’s are producing pre-cut or specialty cut fabric items nowadays. Pre-cut fabrics are fabrics cut and packaged into specific sizes and are usually from a group or designer’s collection. These packs are based on the most common cuts used by quilters, and provide quick alternatives to purchasing and cutting yardage fabric separately.
Common pre-cut sizes are:
- Fat Quarter Bundles – 18”x 21” rectangles
- Fat Eighth Bundles – 9” x 21” rectangles
- 10″ Stacker or Layer Cake – 10” x 10” squares
- 5″ Stacker or Charm Pack – 5” x 5” squares
- Rollie Pollie or Jelly Roll – 2.5” x Width of Fabric {44”} strips
- Mini Charm Pack – 2.5” x 2.5” squares
What other supplies will I need to make my quilt?
All materials required are listed on each pattern, and under each product listing. Additional supplies to finish your quilt are:
- Sewing Machine – one that sews a straight line is all that is needed. Tips, techniques and additional support is provided, where possible, in each pattern but a basic understanding of how to operate a sewing machine is required.
- Rotary Cutter & Cutting Mat – Not essential, but these items will make your life so much easier!

- Item must be sewn by the seller. No mass production of any sort is allowed.
- Credit for the pattern must be given to Keera Job Design Studio
Are you looking for pattern testers? What is involved?
We are always looking for individuals wishing to proof-read or test our patterns before publication. All pattern testers receive a free pattern and fabric required to make a quilt top, and in return must provide honest feedback and/or reviews and access to images of finished product for promotion purposes. Pattern testers may sell the quilt made as a result of the pattern testing, however if further profit is to be made, the tester must purchase supplied fabric at retail price and follow above terms of use.
Do you sell wholesale quilt patterns?
Yes! Please contact us for our current wholesale catalogue and price list.
I am a quilt teacher/instructor. Can I teach a class based on your pattern?
We welcome enquiries about teaching classes based on our patterns. If you wish to speak to us, please contact us so class content, techniques and student support options can be discussed.
Alternatively, Keera is available to teach classes, based of course, on location and time. Contact us to discuss arrangements, and pricing.
How do I finish my quilt? What about quilting?
Each pattern provides basic instructions for laying out your finished quilt top, batting and backing fabrics. Also provided are detailed instructions and a diagram for binding your quilt. A quick google search will provide a wealth of information also on finishing your quilt.
Allison Harris of Cluck Cluck Sew provides a fabulous e-book on finishing quilts which can be downloaded here. There are also great Craftsy classes available on quilting your quilts on domestic home machines as well as free motion quilting (note: this is an affiliate link) which I have found extremely helpful.
Alternatively, you can send your quilt to a long-arm quilter to be quilted. Local searches will provide you with many options.
Should you have any further questions, please contact us.
